Nato protesters arrested in Chicago raid held on terrorism conspiracy charges:
Lawyer says men are 'in shock' over allegations they tried to make a Molotov cocktail ahead of Nato summit protests - Three Nato protesters, arrested in a late night raid on Wednesday, have been charged on terrorism-related offences.
Police claim the charges of conspiracy to commit terrorism, providing material support for terrorism and possession of an explosive or incendiary device, are the result of a month-long investigation into a group they believe was making Molotov cocktails. They had already been pulled over by police last week and asked about their protest plans in a stop they posted on YouTube.
Attorneys representing the men say the charges are fabricated and aimed at intimidating activists. "We cannot say enough that we believe that these charges are absolutely … very trumped up charges," said Sarah Gelsomino of the Peoples Law Office. "Clearly in an attempt to continue this intimidation campaign on activists. Charging these people who are here to peacefully protest against Nato for terrorism, when in reality the police have been terrorising activists in Chicago, is absolutely outrageous.

NYPD loses face and first Occupy Wall Street trial:
This case could have been a slam dunk for the NYPD, had it not been for one thing: the video showing police claims of disorderly conduct during an OWS protest to be completely untrue. Hundreds have been arrested during the Occupy Wall Street protests, but photographer Alexander Arbuckle’s case was the first to go to trial – and after just two days, the Manhattan Criminal Court found him not guilty.

Here's another one:

Uh, so why IS the FBI manufacturing reasons to arrest Occupy protesters while ignoring white supremacist violence?

Re: Here's another one:

You know - that's an interesting question. I think certain elements of the gov't &/or "shadow gov't" really want a lot of black-vs-white antagonism - if not a race war - to distract and control the declining middle class. And they put a lot of resources into this. So they like to leave alone racists, etc.

I do believe that other elements, such as Obama, really don't want this, but are not sufficiently influential. I may be wrong about Obama, but this is what I'm going with.

But there is another side, and that is that there really is a crack-down on "activists" on the "far-right," such as "sovereigns", people who promote raw milk, etc., who basically interfere with, or question, expansive megacorps interests. If not depicted as terrorists, they are targetted by reference to a climate and laws of anti-terrorism, originally "intended" for the, "Muslem brand." And this all is manipulated w/ help of propaganda and the help of a lot of naive liberals who see only racists on the right, and such. You can see how this can end up playing into the black-vs-white strategy as well - but it is mostly a tool of installing fear into those on the right who would oppose corporations like Monsanto or Big Pharm, as well as of the government.

So - a duplicitous strategy is being played - full of dissonance and contradiction. I must say that this is ultimately because, like so many other dinosaur corporations or institutions or ideologies, what they really want to be is A MONEY SINK, to promote the power of those who are in charge. They want more toys, they want more control, etc., and unregulated capitalism is NATURALLY underwriting it all.

Thanks for the link! I hope you are well, and settled back in after Portland.
